Experimenting with viral marketing for Goog-411

People keep talking about viral marketing and how friends spread the word among themselves about a cool product, a good movie, etc. So, here is an experiment.

Google recently launched 1-800-Goog-411 and I am lucky enough to be the product manager for this amazing product. I have created this morning a FaceBook group (for people who are using the service) and a YouTube group (for people who are making videos about the service).

Let’s see how fast we (mostly you) can grow a community and how well it translates into people actually calling the service. I don’t think I will be able to share with you actual numbers, but I promise to keep you updated about the “viral” effects.
